Title: The DAM Book: Digital Asset Management for Photographers
Author: Peter Krogh
Publisher: O'Reilly Media, Inc. (November 22, 2005)

This is the first, best, and only book you will ever need for learning how to manage your ever growing portfolio of images. Peter Krogh is a commercial photographer based in Bethesda, Maryland, and has run a successful business for decades. In this book, Peter presents in wonderful detail and clarity all of the methods and tools he employs to keep track of his collection of photographs.

Peter discusses:

  • organizing your image files on your computer for reliable storage and disaster recovery
  • labeling your image files with a consistent vocabulary so you can easily find images later
  • utilizing the appropriate software to import, label, and catalog all your image files for later use

What good are tens or hundreds of thousands of image files if you cannot search them for the subjects a client needs?

Rating: Highly Recommended
