Canon 5D and Canon 5D Mark II owners... MUST READ!!

 After reading about this problem, I had it happen to me a week later.  Apparently, the mirror falls off due to an adhesive failure.  It's a known issue and Canon will fix it for free.

 Oh, and you don't have to wait for it to fall off for them to fix it.  You can send it in for the repair at any time.  Contact Canon Repair for details.
