#1 and #2 are absolute greatness. Only nagging about out cropped elbows on #2.

Rest are so so with content and/or framing.

Live hard, die hard

Agree.
I don't mind the elbows, but I do mind the amount of headroom on #2.
On #1 I'ld crop a bit closer, to loose some bits of lamps left and right.

Marvelous ... nice PP ... the guy in #2 looks surreal ... I rarely get such great costumes/makeup at my venue.

Dwight McCann

Ahh some nice stuff here too :)

[1] This is really good!! I love the lighting and the whole composition... There is a great power and feeling to this... nice capture :)

[2] Another good shot, but not quite up the standard of [1] I don't think. I like the way you've composed this to include the space around the instrument though... his expression only goes to add to the feel!

[3] I like this... a lot more sedate than the first two, but still a nice photo. I like the way you've captured him giving it a 'thoughtful' look overall even though we can't see his eyes. The background works well here to bring him out of the photo.

[4] I'd have liked this had the other arms and guitar not been in the background. I find them distracting and don't really feel they add to the shot unfortunately.

[5] A bit too 'up the nose' for my liking to make the shot really work and could have done with at least one of his hands to be in shot in full. I'd have cropped a little tighter on the left too to get rid of the partial light that is showing.

[6] To me this seems like you caught a very typical pose... Even though I am a fan of tight crops and rarely go for full length photos myself i'd have preferred to have at least seen his hands in this shot. The background brings him out nicely though.

Thank you Mary, very throughout yet respectful critics, and I basically agree. My beloved shot is [2] as many things coincident there. As for [4], my view that we should present something little funny/unusual in the photo sets, and some viewers of my blog really liked this one. [6] I agree, and I was not sure myself if it goes here; I chose it because of hair color which is well represented :))) Thanks for your notes (and others, too!)
