One thing I've been meaning to do is to play around with the Photomatix Tone Mapping tool to see if it is any use in concert photography post processing. See here (the last section of the page) for examples of its use: http://www.hdrsoft.com/examples.html

I've tried Tone Mapping once, and I think it could work quite well, a long as you don't overdo it. A lot of HDR stuff has a very artificial look.
There were a few band images posted in POTN a while back using HDR....
I also fixed the links in the OP. My mind must have been on holiday allready ;)
