My first picture post here: shots from the summer of 07

Not sure if I know how to use this, but let's try it anyways...

So here's some selected shots from some festivals.

01: Kotiteollisuus, Ankkarock 2007

02: Spitfire, Ankkarock 2007

03: The Sounds, Ankkarock 2007

04: Dir En Grey, Ankkarock 2007

05: HIM, Ilosaarirock 2007

06: Opeth, Ilosaarirock 2007

07: Juliette & The Licks, Ruisrock 2007

08: D'espairs Ray, Ruisrock 2007

09: The Gossip, Accelerator Festival 2007

10: Cansei de Ser Sexy, Accelerator Festival 2007

I understand that 10 was the limit of shots, so here's my introductory bunch of photos. So now you have a slight idea of what I did last summer.

Hoping to hear from you.

Tomi

Welcome :)

I'm really envious of the Juliette & The Licks shot, awesome! I really like how the cord leads into the shot.
I was hired on the fly by a writer from Iltasanomat to photograph John Legend so I couldn't photograph Juliette, which really sucked.

Spitfire shot is really nice too, of course.

What I would say, very impressive. From my level or comprehension, nothing to blame :) And I like to see D'espairs ray, the bandmembers are look so nice. Side note: apparently there is an interchange between Finland and Japan. Last year when I went to Kyoto, the first thing I saw on japanese TV was a feature about finnish design - Marimekko, Aarika etc! Veery impressive after 24 hrs way of longhaul flights and shinkansens...

Thanks for the comments, guys!

Kalle, I could have sworn that I saw you @ the Juliette gig, but then again, I'm sure you know better than me what shows you were shooting at the festival. Well, it's easy to loose track on who's shooting what, when you see the same faces in action so many times during a festival weekend. But yeah, I'm glad I didn't have to see John Legend, that way I got a change to see Juliette again (they played at Ankkarock 2005...)

Maybe I'll gather some more shots and post a new thread here in a couple of weeks. One thing's for sure, I won't be taking parts in any photoshop wizardry competitions or such, since I've never learned to use the thing properly. I never spend any more than a minute on postprocessing per image. Well, I don't even use the crop tool, I keep the original composition on at least 95% of all my images and pretty much the only things I do are a bit of (de)saturation and levels, so I guess I'm different than a lot of people here.

But yeah, maybe some more sample images later...

All shots are good, but the Juliette and the licks and the last image are great...
Very nice work.

Really wonderful work. I like #7 and #9 the most I think.

Wow, that #7.... yummy, love the way the cord draws you into the photo. I'll have to actively look to use that sometime.

Canon 20D, 350D, 35mm 1.4, 85mm 1.8, 430 EX and 580EX flash.

Wow!!

I love the Dir En Grey and Juliette shots.. the rest are good but to me those two stand out the most :) Nice work! :) Not much else to say... they're all very good :)
