Rest of Deep Insight here, and rest of The 69 Eyes here. Now that I think about it, it's a bit pity I didn't photograph rest of Deep Insight as much as I did photograph their basist...

Ps. Thanks for loaning the lens, Kalle. It was pure euphoria when it was attached to my camera.

No problem.

I didn't get anything too special from 69 Eyes, a pity, that. I'll post something when I get them done.

Are you a Dane? :) I love the textures in your shadows in the first three. The last three just don't have the same level of detail to my eye. In any case, it would also be nice to get a wide shot. And maybe a "light" image for comparison.

I like the third image.
Nice motion in the BG, yet not (too much?) on the bass player.
Lucky shot or PP?

A Dane? Huh? No, I'm a Finn. How come you thought that?
By wide you mean something more like this? And by light...?

Luck, I guess. I have no memory of taking that (or any other) photo(s). :D

Because I notice that the Danes (and I guess the Finns) seem to like the dark, contrasty, grainey, moody style.

By wide I mean the entire stage, side to side, and maybe some of the room/hall, too, perhaps like this Seal image:
(chosen because it's sorta darkish somewhat to fit with the extant style here.)

Or better yet, something like this Huey Lewis stage shot:

which is a bit lighter and brighter with more detail ... kinda what I meant by "light".

The "dark and contrasty" also comes with the venue ("Lutakko"). Its dark, and its contrasty because the height of the space is 1,5 times as high as normal room height, so the light sources are rather near the performers, which results to lots of conrast (often not too nice and hard to control).

Light sources nearer the performers should get more light and less "dark", eh? Looking more at these examples it appears perhaps the light is too much from behind causing the look ... I imagine very ugly to shoot.
