Nightwish // Oslo

Recently had the pleasure of photographing Nightwish in Oslo at their two shows there... first time for me photographing Anette and it was definitely different to photographing her predecessor :)

A mix of photos from both nights:

#1

#2

#3

#4

#5

More can be found at www.musicxtra.net

#3's a very nice moment and nice expressions, but maybe you should add a bit luminosity (and a bit contrast)? Now it looks a bit grey compared to for instance #2 (which is also nice).

Good pics, actually, it's difficult to fail with Nightwish gig - so much lights and effects. Should hurry to process Oulu gig too :)

Regarding #3 - they were "embracing" at every show :) I saw this myself and on Kalle's report too:)

Be easier to see if they were a bit bigger. I like #4.

Who's in shot #5?

Thanks Kalle... I did try altering that image but it just kept making the blacks darker and less defined. I wasn't too worried about the lightness in parts as it was the pose and Marco's expression that I liked in this :)

I guess it is, but the first night was indeed harder with the residual smoke from the pyros throwing things off a little.

[3] yes, this is true... I've seen it in a few sets of photos now, and in both of mine from the two nights, but I did like this one particularly due to Marco's expression so included it in my final edits.

Thanks :) I really like [4] as well... I particularly like how all the colours turned out in it too

As I've explained in a previous post this is the size that I edit for my site and that is where they are linked from. I also don't tend to post any images larger than this size on the web due to past experience of people taking them and cutting off copyrights etc (not inferring that anyone on here would do that but once they're online they're out there aren't they!?)

Tuomas... strange position for him to play keyboards I know :) Kind of why I liked it.

Mary, I understand about not posting bigger ... I've had the same problem, sigh. But they are a bit hard to make out.

Yeah, strange way of playing indeed. Took me a while to figure out what he's doing. But it makes the shot really catch the eye.

At what point do Marko and Anette hug? Might be useful to have an idea when to keep the eyes open in Jaahalli for those two.

I like #1 and 2 best.
Hard to see, but #5 looks like the focus is too far front.
