Random shots from the past year

These really are random... Didn't choose these because they'd be the best (or even above my average). So... just photos :).

1. Mando Diao (SWE) @ Ankkarock Open Air festival

2. Lapko @ Lutakko Liekeissä festival

3. The Ark (SWE) @ Ankkarock

4. The Sounds (SWE) @ Ankkarock

5. The BellRays (US) @ Ankkarock

6. Stalingrad Cowgirls @ Helsinki Ice Hall (warmup for Iggy Pop)

7. Dave Lindholm @ Paviljonki, Jyväskylä

8. Astrid Swan @ Paapan kapakka, Tampere

9 Janna @ Paapan kapakka, Tampere

10 Tiktak @ Lutakko

#4, 6 and 8 for me...
Nice images. Some without the 'typical Kalle Signature processing'. Nice to see for a change though ;)

Agreed. For example, #1 is very cool and not the most typical shot for you. Would be better without the bass drum visible though. #10 really brought a smile on my face, excellent shot and the square format works well.

A nice selection, for sure. My favorite would have to be that Dave Lindholm shot (number 7), it really captures the feeling of those shows he's done the last couple months. The others are mighty fine as well, but I feel 7 is the stand out spot for my liking.

Bu I have to disagree with the folks who said that number 1 would be better without the bassdrum. What the? That would make the little drummer boy look very stupid indeed, if he would just grin in the background without people realizing that he's the drummer.

That Lapko shot (number 2) would be a favorite as well, but I'm not quite sure about the crop. I think it's way too tight at the left side of the photo, in terms of the overall look of the photo. But then again, I guess it's just about capturing a moment, and then it's too late to try and re-frame the photo, because then you might lose the momentum totally...

But yeah, very nice bunch of photos, but that was well expected from the man...

Thanks for the comments and feedback.

There's a reason for the Lapko shot being framed the way it is (it is cropped so I could see what it was). The stage was smallish, and I was also limited on how much I could move (for instance, couldn't go pass the drummer). On the left side there was a mixing board that I've cropped out of the picture (the board was white or silver, so it kind of drew the eye because it was the lightest thing in the picture)

Of course, "environmental issues" are a bad excuse for bad framing etc, you'll just have to try again and get a better photo. But I personally don't mind a bit unorthodox compositions, although I know that it is a matter of taste if it has "nice tension" or if it is just awkward...

Yes, nice not have lots of artificial noise in every one. I like #1 the way it is. #2 isn't really interesting, but that's the way I feel about most white boys with dreads. I like #3 due to the Sci-Fi costume. #4 looks like a cross dresser to me ... don't like the "up the nose" perspective. #6, 8 & 9 are good for the usual reason. #10 is spectacular even given that I always like Tiktak. So what is it that draws these odds together into this particular anthology, Kalle?

[3], [5] and [7] are my favourites but these are all really very good Kalle :)
