Let's just say that it would've probably been easier for my wallet to buy a decent lighting setup for the local club than buy the lenses to cope with the current one ;)

I think he needs sympathy for having to photograph that first guy! As for the 50mm f/1.2, it's so much heavier than the 50mm f/1.4 while offering relatively little improvement in bokeh and almost none in image quality at this level that I haven't bought one yet. YMMV, of course.
