Dave Norris @ The Rainbow

Acoustic set, the venue usually has more pleasant lighting but they had them turned down quite a bit that night. Dave was playing to a crowd of about 3 people. :o It was fun though. More of a practice then a show.

Thanks for looking!

They look very soft, Nick. 1/80th at this focal length should be better I think. But playing to an empty house can certainly drain a musician.

I kinda like #1 and 3. I'd crop #3 a bit different though, and I think I'd ddarken the BG in #1...
#2 does look soft.

Thanks for the comments gentlemen. Yes I'm a little concerned about the softness too. I'm going to blame it on user error. There really shouldn't be softness. The guy is sitting down and not moving much.... *sigh* I think the problem is I missed the focus though.

I've got a sneaking suspicion that my 20D is front focusing a bit but I'm going to need to do some controlled tests. It's not really something I enjoy doing so I probably won't get around to it for a while. :-

Ah, I love an honest man ... I've two 1DMIIIs where you can calibrate the focus for each lens and I haven't done one yet, sigh. Also haven't installed the LightRoom pre-sets I bought. Crap, I've got at least ten projects I've started and haven't made the time to complete.
