damn mic stand! :)

I hope you like them
Hello,you seem to be able
Hello,
you seem to be able to catch images properly, in technical sense, but perhaps you need to look into something more different. All images are centered and look really the same. The next step would be investigate different angles and catch not just "a guy playing guitar", but something strinking, unusual. Some emotions or cool poses or interesting otherwise. Were you "fixed" to you shooting spot here (by crowd, club architecture etc)?
Monor common problems: observe such thing as a mic stand and if it covers the face or body - as you noted yourself. And seems that light setup could allow you to shoot pointing guitarist's head in front of a light, so you can have contour light on his hair. Also, do not forget closeups, they may work well.

Thank you for the reply!
You're right..but I wasn't in the photopit...I was in the first row of the pit so I couldn't move so much..
I saw your deviantart's photos....very very very good. I have a question...do you usually use a flash? I think yes because you shoot at iso400..
I didn't use the flash in my last set...only in one photo (the mic stand one).
Thank you!!
Hi, actually I am not so
Hi, actually I am not so experienced myself, just trying my best :) Thanks for the warm words :)
Normally I do not use flash, it's just "big names" got their own light technichians and make bright light. Otherwise, I just use wide aperture about 2-2.8. I use flash in extreme situations when band plays in total shadow, but in that case I stop it down to -2 -- -3. So the flash balances the other lights but not owerthrow them. Here is a pic with flash (Kreator) -

Very good.
Very good.
I'm very impressed by the sharpness and the noiseless of your photos....last time I use the 50mm at 1.8..but next time I'll try the tamron f/2.8.
Which ISO do you usually use? 400? I shot at 800 but it produce little noise :\ Do you post-process your photos (a little blur if there is some noise, etc..)? Nightwish VII (and Nightwish in general) is awesome!!
My camera is rather noisy so
My camera is rather noisy so I also tend not to use anything above 800. Perhaps 500-640 is rather general and I adjust it dynamically dirung shooting (by hand). The noise is cleaned by Noise Ninja software using 16-bit images extracted from RAW (they are 12 bit or something in reality). One can select only dark regions of the shot and apply noise reduction only to these area. But the key is to obtain enought light during shooting and just take measures to make shot sharp. :) Fully exposed areas are more or less noiseless but underexposed can show terrible noise. It's still ok if you do not correct for exposure during postprocessing, but if you do, noise will show up.
