I assume we all need the basics - ISO, aperture, shutter.
What features are absolutely necessary?
What features are nice to have but you can work without them?
What features are of no use whatsoever?
Do you need adjustable tone curves?
Do you need contrast control?
Do you need saturation control?
Do you need multiple custom settings banks?
What custom settings do you utilize most?
That 51 pt thingy...
I'd have to say for me the most valuable feature is that 51 pt focus and being able to set it for anywhere I want. Man...it makes getting blurry shots a chore lol. As far as the other features you mentioned, I'm sure I have those but have never used and don't know where to begin using them to be honest. I really just turn it on, decide what ISO to use, set it to manual, and adjust my shutter and aperture for what I need for each shot. It may not be the best thing to do but it works for me. I would like to learn more about the saturation, tone, and contrast control though. These are things that the camera would control before and during the shot or is this for me to edit while the image is still on the camera? As it is now I just manage all this in ACR...at least that's what I think I'm doing haha. I think that the auto setting and other scene settings are worthless to me unless I'm handing my toy to someone to shoot me with a friend. I also have no use for the built in flash unless it's commanding. I'm still working on the SU800 Walter. :)
