After a number of Rock/Metal shows, I finally got my chance to shoot a pop show & who bigger than Celine Dion

1 song infront of stage (relieved it was not a sound desk job)

The rest can be seen on my website if interested

Very nice work. The second one is especially cool with the projected image behind her. The fourth one is also good with the direct eye contact and the guitar player's interaction with her. I would crop it a little on the left to remove that hand with microphone projected behind her. I'm wishing her hand didn't cover her mouth on the third one. The first one would make a good shot for publication as there is plenty of open space around her for masthead and text.

I'm with Walter on these. Also, they seem to have a bit blue cast which I guess is from all the blue lights and smoke but I think it robs the skin color. Good job.

Cheers Walter,

I think I choked a little under the pressure of 1 song....however I agree with you, I dodged the left side of stage & remained towards the centre, which left me with a lot of 'mic face' - I thought she would definitely switch hands at some point, unfortunately that was not the case

...is she not throwing you the "horns" in the third image down? HA.

Nice job on these. Did you have to sign one of those "agreements" before being allowed to shoot? If so, would you mind sharing it?

Thanks!

No release form at all to my surprise - just the 1 song rule.

Awesome! I love when that happens!

That's quite rare with a major star!

Each of those images has a nice element - nice pose with plenty of room, nice background on the next, emotion on the third (though that one is my least fav), and the interaction with the guitar player.

I would try to get the 200mm or 300mm going in that scenario to get a couple of close shots on the face as well...

What ISO were you at? The shots look clean but if you could have moved the ISO up just a notch without much degradation, a little more light would've been a nice touch.

Will,
Yeh I was expecting a release form, whether it was a rights grabber or not....so that was surprising for me

I was shooting at ISO1000 f5.6 shutter anywhere between 125-400

I can't afford a fast/quality zoom lens....these were taken with the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8

Also with one body one song, I didn't want to fiddle around with any lenses :)

Hopefully a sale or two might start me towards a 70-200 f2.8 IS L Lens one day....just moved in to a new place, so that took up all of my annual bonus!
