I'm working on the Phoenix show. I'm also going to go through the venue to see what I can find. How big is yours? Ours is only 300 people max.

Bill Scheider (Foxboro's tour manager) emails my contact at the venue and tells her I've been approved. Twice. When I show up there with cameras in hand (and backpack full of lenses!) I am told that Mr. Schneider changed his mind. Apparently he only approved me in case his "photographer" [read:GWC/someone's brother in law or cousin] can't make it. [insert many expletives here] I even spoke briefly with him to plead my case, only to have him give me the "well if I let you shoot, I have to let everyone shoot!". I said, ummm NO you don't... you are in charge, whoever you approve is who you approve, end of story. He said he would "go check with the guys and see if it's cool with them" yeah...bullshit. My contact comes by a few minutes later apologizing profusely for the "mix up" and tells me about the real reason he approved me to begin with (backup). He didn't tell her until that night and she was just as pissed as I was, but there wasn't anything to be gained from making a stink, so I went in and enjoyed the show. I thought to myself "WWtD" ( What Would t0ast Do?) so a couple of times I caught him pointing his lens my way I reminded him that "he's number 1!!"...lol. Childish, I know but it gave me a chuckle.

Oh, and get this, he never EVER ONCE looked through his view finder, only held the camera over his head and shot blindly. And the photos on their website show the lack of quality and attention to detail that a true professional would bring. The GWC shot the whole show with only a fisheye, and used flash the whole time!!! What the f*&%? AND, he only shot from two positions, stage left and behind the band next to the drummer facing out at the crowd.

And I passed on The Police in order to have the chance to shoot them, which burns me even more. Needless to say, Mr. Schneider is on my list.
