I saw this today advertised on Photo District News. I read the contest rules. They don't seem egregious and winners get some pretty cool stuff. They do mandate you providing a 24-month license for free in use of the winning image to let them promote future contests, but your image will appear in both Billboard magazine and on Photo District News. Pretty high profile publicity for your work and good addition to your resume. All in all, not a bad trade.

OUCH!
You see the entry fee?
Although if I get a KILLER shot next week, it might be worth the $35 for a shot at a "professional dslr."

One thing of note...
"If the Photograph includes other people, you must be prepared to provide a signed written personal release from all persons who appear in the Photograph submitted, authorizing use of the Photograph as provided below in "Third Party Releases/Licenses." If you are unable to provide all required personal releases, upon request by Sponsor and in the form provided by Sponsor, then your entry may be disqualified. You do not need to send the release with your entry. If you win, we will contact you if personal releases are needed."
So... if you get a "Killer" shot of someone famous chances are slim you will get them to sign a release, and it's a waste of time to enter. And the local bands most of us shoot at the poorly lit clubs will probably sign, but the shots won't be as well lit. And they have two categories, Amateur and Professional... but they don't explain their definition of Professional (that I could find).
