DRM-free music is being offered on MySpace music service in an effort to compete with iTunes. The catch is that the music can be played only on computers connected to the Internet, and listeners have to tolerate advertising splashed across the screen. If you want to transfer a song to your iPod or other portable device, you will have to buy the music through Amazon.com's download service.
