Has anyone covered Coldplay and had to reject them due to their release? Though I don't keep up with this sort of thing, I don't recall hearing Coldplay come up as being another one with a awful form to sign
My agency & I decided not to cover the show next week - it is being handled by Headlong Tours LLP....anyhoo Walter I know you're always keen to see this sort of thing, below is a copy
1. The photographs taken by you of the Artist (“the Photographs”) shall only be taken during songs 2,3,4 performed by the Artist at the Event and shall only be taken without flash. The Photographs are approved for publication once in the following publications only;

2. You hereby transfer and assign to us with full title guarantee the entire copyright and all extensions and renewals throughout the world (including by way of present assignment of future rights) and all rights of a similar nature in the Photographs.
3. You warrant and undertake that the Photographs (in whole or in part) shall not form, either directly or indirectly, the content of any publication other than the Publication(s), whether published by the above publication(s) (including in any associated publication of such publication(s) listed above) or by any third party (i.e. no syndication rights are granted).
4. We shall not exploit the Photographs other than by way of the rights granted to you hereunder without your consent.
5. We shall be entitled to assign transfer sub-license mortgage charge or otherwise dispose of our rights hereunder to any person or entity without reference to you.
6. This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts in London shall have exclusive jurisdiction to determine all matters arising hereunder.

Oh wow. Now that is outright copytheft. Hey, did I just create a new term? copyright. copyleft. copytheft? [ UPDATE - I just Googled the term "copytheft" and found references for various meanings going back to 1997. ]
I will share this with folks I know over at the BAPLA who are keen to eradicate these things. They may have some pull since Coldplay is a UK artist.

I don't think that you should
I don't think that you should ignore it, it's actually part of the program. But if you're not comfortable with it, you may do some research and maybe there's a tool or a way on how you can surpass it.
