Jonas Brothers Release

I added the Jonas Brothers Release to the Predator Rights Grabbing Photography Contract Language blog post. We have 17 now. If you look at the list of attachments and can offer ones we do not already have then please send them to me and I will add them.

Hi Walter, the link within your post doesn't work, I assume it was supposed to be this one?

Thanks for catching that. Fixed it in the original post  just now.

Seems like most of them have the same lawyers writing those contracts.   When I was presented with one of those contracts, I wasn't allowed to preview it before the day of the show (I asked), so when I got to the Rights Grab lingo, I crossed each of the offending paragraphs out and in the margin I wrote "I do NOT consent to these terms".   Next to the "Editorial Use Only" paragraph I initialed and wrote "These are the only terms of this agreement that I consent to".  Then signed the bottom and asked them to photocopy it for me.  They didn't even look at it and said they didn't know if they had a copier, but would see....

I shot the show, and never got my copy.   I few days later the venue manager called me and told me that their tour manager was furious at me for changing the contract "without permission" lol!  I told them that a contract is not valid if both parties do not agree to the terms, and I did not agree to them so I was forced to change the language to something I could agree to.  They could have looked at the contract when I handed it back to them, and present their objection in person, but they didn't even look at it, they just assumed that I had signed my rights away.  Nope. Thanks to you, Walter, I know better!!

Thanks for helping us fight the good fight, my friend!
