Summer Slaughter Tour 2010 - Horrible lighting help

I recently attended Summer Slaughter Tour 2010 in Houston, TX and was faced with lighting problems. Bad ones. I managed to get some decent keepers but I've attached some examples of what type of photos I got that night.

Problems:
-They only had one color spotlight shinning on stage
-Venue was VERY dark
-I'm not a big fan of using flash (though I managed to borrow a Canon Speedlite 430EX II and tried it out a couple times, as show with Veil of Maya and Carnifex photos attached)

Dumpstaphunk with Ivan Neville

My first photo shoot from the pit - Phish 6/18/09

Would love some feedback on my first photo shoot with credentials from the photo pit.  This concert took place last Thursday, and it was the standard first 15 minutes, no flash deal.

First post here, so feel free to yell if I did anything wrong.

Critique???

I'm new here & just dropping in to say hi! Wanted to give a few photos for critique......

PORTECHO in concert!

The more I use my D3 for low light, high ISO concert work the more I like what I see. This is the two-man electronic turkish band PORTECHO in concert at Studio Live, a dark club in Istanbul. All pictures with the D3, 70-200 VR or 17-35, ISO 3200-6400.

Mira - Concert in Istanbul

After shooting them for their CD cover, recently I have been shooting Mira's live concert in Istanbul, so here come a few pics:
