Digital Railroad today announced it is closing its doors after an unsuccessful last ditch effort to acquire funding. Earlier this month they announced they were moving some executives into staff positions and cutting staff. It appeared as though DRR would be liquidated. In the early part of this week, they announced they were seeking additional funding to continue operations. Today, they simply closed the doors without notice. As recently as a three weeks ago, on the Q4 earnings investor call, Getty Images (Public, NYSE:GYI) CEO Jonathan Klein said "I would stress that at no point has Getty Images talked about a sale.
