Not too many real successes on my scale this time, but I like the first two of these:
1.
2.
3.
I'd like to have had more pictures of the guy in the first picture, but there just wasn't enough light to stop movement, and other situations would've been dull. I used my primes (f1.4 - f1.8 ), ISO1600, and there wasn't all that much chance for anything less.
I might add a photo or two later on...
Re: Underwater Sleeping Society (FIN) @ Lutakko, Jyväskylä,
I'll agree with you, I like the first 2 the best as well. Good energy, composition in the 1st - it stands out for me among the 3. Might be just too much mic/shadow around his mouth in the 3rd one for me.

Re: Underwater Sleeping Society (FIN) @ Lutakko, Jyväskylä,
I like #2 best. On #1 I don't like the keyboard player. Bass player is fine, but the second guy 'damages' the image.
On #3 the cieling is interfering with the guitar., and I'd have cropped off a bit bottom and left.

On small clubs something's gotta give :). Not sure I agree with you, I'm slowly shifting (or drifting) towards liking pictures that have "extra detail" and/or more than one layer to them... Although I'd hope he and his keyboard weren't so bright (I don't think darkening them would make things better as they're burned, and would become flat gray if darkened).

You have no idea how much trouble the low, badly finished ceiling is... Smoke is a blessing, lights put on the floor pointing upwards a curse.

See what you mean on the "lyers" bit, but in this case the guy is a) burned and b) showing his hair instead of face... If it were a face, I'd like it...

I think I do... I face something similair at Atak, being a ladder and a fuse board when shooting from left or right side of the stage respectively... The fuse board is a reason I hardly shoot from the right side of the stage ;)
Re: Underwater Sleeping Society (FIN) @ Lutakko, Jyväskylä,
