Biography

Growing up in Westchester, NY I was only a quick drive to Manhattan where I spent most of my youth attending shows and building my music collection. I remember my first Ramones concert vividly and knew from that day on live music would be a major part of my life. In my senior year of high school I photographed my first show in New York City and the excitement has never left my mind. I have continued to photograph every show I attend, building my collection of photos to hundreds of bands. My passion for photography and rock n roll music has gone from being a habit to a career.

In my junior year of high school, I began working at a photo lab where I sharpened my photography skills and took advantage of the environment to learn to print the photos I was shooting. I began my schooling at New York University as a Photography major at the Tisch School of the Arts in 1996. I spent my four years at NYU turning rock n roll photography into an artform, all the while using the music scene as my education. In 1997 I became a waitress at the renowned Continental Club in New York City and took this opportunity to meet and photograph the local budding bands. Not before long, I became the clubs house photographer and my photos can still be seen on the walls of the club. At The Continental, I met and photographed such musicians as The Ramones, Motorhead, The Misfits, Nashville Pussy and many more. This has lead to creating CD covers, tour posters and other promotional items for bands.

Throughout my years living in the East Village of Manhattan, I photographed at such reputed clubs as CBGB’s, Coney Island High, Tramps, Don Hills, Irving Plaza and Roseland. The list of bands I have been photographed include Blondie, Cheap Trick, The Damned, The Descendents, The Dictators, Frank Black, Fugazi, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, NOFX, The Queers, Social Distortion and Stiff Little Fingers and many more. Just as my hero photographers Roberta Bayley and Annie Lebowitz captured the spirit and energy of the classic New York music scene, I am documenting the exciting, fast paced rock n roll scene of this new millennium at the same venues. I have now taken my love of photographing bands and combined it with the art of web design to create a full promotional package for bands.

In 2001 I went back to school to learn more about my new passion of Web Design and Production. I attended the New School University, a division of Parsons, for their 2 year Web Design Certficate program. After I completed that, I went to work for such companies as Wine and Spirits Magazine and VNU EMedia.

In 2002 I moved to Los Angeles, where I currently work in the design industry. I previously worked for a merchandising company doing graphic design, pre-press production, web design and photography. I have sharpened my skills in such areas as print production and graphic preparation for printing. I currently work for Disney as a Community Manager. In the evenings, I purse my freelance career in web design and photography. I have managed to take all my years of schooling and experience and turn it into a career I enjoy and am proud of!
