Anthony Gomes and the New Soul Cowboys

Taken at a Blues Show March 22. Lighting was horrible, so I had to use a flash. I dialed it down between -1 and -1 2/3 stops.

I know the feeling of shooting in slim to none lighting but i like the way you have deepend the shadows whether it be in camera or P.P.

All photos look great. You have captured what his concerts are all about even with the lighting conditions you had to deal with.

To plug myself my photos were used in Anthony's new Live CD he has just released that was Number #1 on the billboards for awhile, not sure its current status. its a good buy if you like southern rock/blues style music. I'v got to shoot him about 3 times now and he is such a wonderful musician and person.

It's a combination of not blasting with the flash (flash was set to a minimum of -1 stop) and levels adjustment and a +2 or 3 in contrast.

Nothing I couldn't have done in the darkroom if printing "old school" style.

We redid our MySpace last night, adding a 45-tune music player to it. We included three of his songs in the playlist.

He contacted us through our MySpace account to get the image that is currently our profile pic.

I thought my manager had replied to him and she thought I had (neither of us checked the "sent" folder, alas).

He uploaded about 30 photo a few days ago and my manager saw that the image was one of them, DESPITE one huge embossed watermark. He also didn't credit me.

I sent a reply to the message quoting a price for all Internet use and suddenly the image was taken down. We never got a reply, either. Don't know if he runs his own MySpace profile or it was one of his "people" that made the grab.

Needless to say, I'm not happy about this. Should have done a screen capture to prove the useage.

Were you PAID for the shots used on the new Live album?

I too would like to know if you were paid for use of the photographs with his CD. He's selling the CD for money. He should share the revenue fairly with all of the contributors.

Next time you encounter this type of difficult lighting scenario, maybe try dragging the shutter a bit to allow some ambient light to separate your subject from the background. That technique has helped me tremendously!

I was compensated and he has been nothing but great to me. as for your trouble with the images you sent i can understand how that would be irritating.
